Today we had a department meeting and we were fortunate enough to hear from Elder Bednar. He spoke to us for about 45 minutes and the topic of his talk was change, which was quite fitting as we are in the midst of a huge relocation for our entire department. He shared some great stories and gave us invaluable counsel. He has such a wonderful way of bringing the spirit into a meeting and providing us with many opportunities for growth and learning.
A few things that stood out to me:
- The essence of the gospel is change. For more insights, think about the steps to true conversion.
- The Book of Mormon is the single greatest source about change. (It is the handbook of change)
- It is doctrine and the power of the Holy Ghost that initiates change.
- it is always through the gospel that we learn what matters most.
- set goals so high that you cannot imagine achieving the results using existing processes.
Today was a great reminder of what an amazing job I have. There aren't many places where you can work and have the opportunity to take time out of the day and listen to an apostle of the Lord give counsel and instruction. I feel so blessed to work for the Church and have opportunities like this!
